Rear washer

Featured Replies

Hi.. After the latest batch of snow.. for some reason my rear washer is firing sideways.. I have had a quick look, but before I try to twist it with a pair of pliers I wondered if anyone had the same issue?

Do I just re-align the washer, or does it shoot out of the tip of the bolt..? I'm crap at these kind of things and I'll look like a right idiot if I had to go to a dealer!!

Hi!

Have you got this in order now? I didn't get the problem straight (firing sideways). But if you use force (pair of pliers) to get it right, isn't it a risk that you break it all together? No offense, but if it happened to me I had taken it to the dealer and let him set it straight for me, rather than to try to fix it by my self, break it, and then have to go to a workshop. Just my two cents.

Does it fire out of the wiper pivot point? If so, chances are it has twisted with the wiper mech when it was used during freezing conditions. This used to happen on older VW's due to ingress of dirt. If it's still stuck firing sideways then I'd let the dealer adjust it... might do it for free if they're quiet.

Still not working - i'll pop to the dealers. I think it might have twisted when it was snowy.

Not sure why they would charge me though.. I this type of thing not covered by warranty? I've only had it 3 months.
