Retro Fit Parking Sensors

Like dilz000 I thought parking sensors were for those who were perhaps older, less mobile (neck/back problems) so have never bothered to add them to the options list till we got the Leon with them already fitted. It turns out they are genuinely useful in gauging distance in addition to the normal observations, as retrofit options go they're inexpensive and useful. Don't knock it without trying it :)

did it to my car, cost me £12 , cant beat that!

Hi

sorry, new to the forum (and obviously this thread); is the fitting guide link not working?

I went on it today and couldn't get it to respond???

Im looking at getting the genuine Skoda kit from Rainworth Skoda (loca to me) and fitting it in the warmth (hah) of my garage, so would appreciate any help on this please!

Aha, that explains it, thank you!

I don't suppose anyone has a copy of the guide that they backed-up / saved have they?

Any help / advice gratefully received!!

its a easy mod to do, i used £12 sensors off ebay. Measure twice cut once ;)

never seen those electromagnet sensors before but may be worth a punt!

Anyone tried the electromagnetic no holes reversing sensors ? I like the rear end of the VRS and would not want to ruin the smooth looks with sensors.

Found these for £25:

Had the same set up on my 206, theyre **** mate. Dirty back end sends them mental and thats if you can get the silver strip to stay stuck to the inside of the bumper. Take my word from experience, dont buy it as its carp.

You have to be uber crap at parking if you need sensors on a Fab.

The old boy's Mondeo is a bit of a bus and i can understand why the're on that. My 3 series has them hooked up to the idrive screen thingy which gives a fairly good idea of where stuff is behind you but i rarely find the need for it as it ain't no tank - now the Fab is just a couple of fag packets bigger than a shopping trolley.................

Flame suit on!

Agree about the need for sensors but on odd occasions my 18 year old gets in and drives Mums car; she is to driving what I am to deep sea diving....!

I know when She Who Must Be Obeyed had an SE, it had the cruise control and both front and rear sensors fitted (presumably by the supplying dealer??) and I guess as this is a 1-owner car she feels there would be no detriment in fitting them.

Thanks for the help by the way, much appreciated!!!
