I wanted the car for 12,250 silver with zeons, but he would not budge so i paid 12,000 with an autochanger..... anyway what bulbs are standard..thanks

Don't believe what's in the manual!

Unless they've changed the manual description, you need the other type.

I'll find out and post. Jon (taviaRS) has a bulb thread somewhere.

Edit: here's the link :)

and what is scotch guard?

It's "Scotchgard", made by 3M. A US website about the product:

http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure/scotchgard/

Robert Dyas and B&Q (and no doubt other hardware and/or fabric shops) sell aerosols that you spray on, here's a UK online shop:

http://www.fabricdyes.co.uk/fabric_design.asp?fabrictypeid=9

It works by creating a chemical barrier on the fabric which makes marks and stains easier to remove, especially if they are still 'wet' when you come to mop them up.

I am going to get some high wattage bulbs, what type does the Fabia use? I am guessing H7 but not sure.

H7 for the dipped beams and H3 for the main beam. I'd recommend some Osram Silverstars (H7) and some Philips Rallye 100W bulbs (H3) for the main beams - can be had from www.powerbulbs.com :D

Chris

:iagree: As Chris says.... Although I use vision plus H7s in mine, but Osrams and Philips vision plus are much the same. :D

Thanks Chaps that is all the info i needed, i am just trying to take my mind off the wait for my car, by pulling my finger nails out.

The headlights are just that expensive, wouldn't want to loose money on it ;)

Seat covers - be slightly cautious if you have side airbags, there are some options there apparently.

Scotch guard is a spray which effectively puts a thin layer of material on top of the fabric. When dirt gets onto your seats, it's not actually on the material but on the Scotguard. Basically that's how it works, probably used rubbish terms & so on but it kinda describes it :D

Has anyone 'scotch-guarded' their vRS seats then?? Presumably there's no discolouration?

I didn't much fancy the el-cheapo protection my dealer was offering - I had it on a new corsa a few years back and thought nothing of it - the seats marked as if there was no protection there.

Mine was Scotchguarded when it was given a full valet by my mate inc Supaguard.

And boy was I glad when I realised when I was doing my stereo install i cut my hand and bled on the seat!

Trouble was i didnt realise until the next day, dried on blood, thought i'd had it. It just wiped off with a little Autoglym interior cleaner...phew.

You would recommend both these then? My car was Diamonbrited, inside and out. It seems OK, but I don't have a 'control' unfinished specimen to compare it with.

My seats are currently covered in muddy footprints from the pikey scumbags who stole my stereo... hopefully the scotchgard will mean that the footprints are easily sorted, at least...
