rain sensor windscreen

Featured Replies

Got a crack in my windscreen last night coming home from England after being away for New year, can anyone tell me if i can just fit a normal windscreen without the sensor as (1) i never use them and (2) i reckon it will be much cheaper, the cars done huge mileage so hence the reason id prefer the cheaper screen.

I dont think you can, dont know how it works on the mk1 superb, but on the mk2 the mirror mounts are totally different and the screens cannot be interchanged.

As I guess your insurance company will be paying, and you'll only be paying a fixed excess, then go for the better screen.

im not sure i havent got in touch with them yet, ive never had to claim for a screen before so im not sure if im covered, guess i should have asked when i took it out and i should read my policy oops lol. thanks for the answer anyway mate.

if the only difference is the mounting then the cost will be the same anyway, and if you remove lose the rain sensor you'll also lose what semblance of intermittent wipe there is now.

There is no difference in the price of the screen the only thing you need to watch for is the colour of the tint and visor
