Water in boot

Featured Replies

Hi,

Happy New Year to all!

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem - water in the boot.

Opened it up the other day to find the drivers-side corner (near the light cluster) was wet and there was a trail of water from this corner

across the boot floor. I've checked the rubbers are clean, the light cluster is fitted tight and the hose has not come off the rear washer.

So, I'm at a loss to work out where the water is coming from (it only seems to be after very heavy downpours).

It looks like I'll have to lay in the boot while someone gets the hosepipe/pressure washer out on the back, but if anyone has any

experience that might help, I'd be very grateful.

Cheers.

I read a thread about this about two months ago - can't remember what the problem was there - continue searching!

It might be your rear washer leaking and running down from the motor into your boot. Best way to check is open your boot and start the washer - you should be able to see if any is leaking down from undernieth the trim.

Had the same problem with mine, Skoda said it was down to some vents behind the bumper cant remember the name of them tho :(

Rear washer working ?? There a joint somewhere around the rear of the nearside rear seat ---if you dont use additive or it freezes ,pipe pops off and you get wet in the back .

Hi, Many thanks for all replies. Sorry I've been bad at replying - had some non-related issues so been busy.

I've checked the washer and it doesn't seem to be that. The water seems to be coming from one corner. I've been searching

and found something called a "rear skuttle" or something behind the bumper which might be worth looking at as others have

had problems with that.

Thankfully, it only seems to happen when there has been extreme downpours, so I'm parking with the rear to the wall to

shield it from the worst until I can solve it.

On an unrelated note, had BOTH headlight bulbs blow at the exact same time today! They were not even a matched pair

as one had gone a couple of months ago, so was replaced with the spare. It wasn't frosty and the bulbs were dry when

removed (and no hands had ever touched the glass) and no fuses blew. What's the chances of that happening!!??
