NTFS Undelete

Featured Replies

This is a long shot I know, but does anyone know any good preferably free NTFS undelete that can recover files from a 2008 Standard edition formatted NTFS drive.

The files were deleted today, and we have tried a number of tools but none can find any deleted files. I suspect its because of the NTFS version used to format the drive, the files are not on the system partition.

I've used GetDataBack from Runtime software before:

Only probelm is, you have to buy it before you can recover anything.

not sure, but we kind of gave up trying. We did find a couple of trial versions that allowed us to do full scans, and could only locate a small number of files. We recovered those and most of the rest exist elsewhere, just need to sift through several hundred GBs of word docs and pdfs to find them. I wont go into the cause, and why the easiest resolution to the problem did not work.

.... why the easiest resolution to the problem did not work.

backups not working :p

I have used "freeundelete" from Recoveronix Ltd in the past with good results.
