More-bhp remap

Featured Replies

Happy new year all,

I purchased a '04 Octy vRS about a month ago and so far (touch wood) have had no troubles whatsoever with it, and can honestly say I'm very impressed and pleased i choose one. I am now looking at making it a bit faster without having to spend the mega bucks and have been looking at a remap. The more-bhp one seems to look quite appealing and reasonably priced due to their current offer. All reviews i've heard of the company seem to point in the right direction. Has anyone on here used them for their car? Any feedback or alternatives to this would be much appreciated.

Also been searching through the forums and there seems to be split between people using a purpose made induction kit or just replacing the standard item with a panel filter by say K&N or Pipercross. Any advice on what would go best with a remap and which is the best product would be much appreciated as my knowledge is pretty thin!

Cheers guys,

Dave

hi Dave,

As far as an induction kit, i would stick with stock airbox and uprate it with a panel filter like a green or jetex, if you want extra performace gains then defin the airbox and pipe in a bigger diameter pipe to the airbox from the front bumper allowing for more air.

Induction kits are not worth the risk in my opinion....risk of sucking up water like my friend did in his gti recently!

Hmmm is more-bhp a guy called Jason based in the NW? Had a remap done by him approx 3 years ago.

I have the more-bhp remap on my vrs, perfect for what I wanted, not too agressive so it doesn't spin the wheels everywhere and nice and smooth, slightly better economy if i drive it steady too but that doesn't happen too often, Jason is a top guy and I recommend him.

 from me

Yeah i had my 130PD remapped by more, and its top notch, good price and like whats been said on here, not too over the top but loads of torgue although it does spin the wheels in about every gear! lol

Im glad to hear all these good shouts about more-bhp. looking at getting my vrs done before feb.

It seems very cheap, but from what i can make out on here and the mk4 gti forum its a cracking bargain.

Brilliant stuff lads, thanks for all the replies, they have been alot of use to me. I've just ordered a new panel filter and shall try to get a cold air feed into the airbox this weekend. Then i think its time to give Jason a bell and get this remap sorted!
