this is going a bit away from the subject of qtr miles

Qtr miles are all about "times" and set off's , not just about going fast down a staight bit of road.

Do i hear of any other skodas beside ffelan turning up @ USC?? :alien:

Perhaps if you explain what and where USC is, we may be able to comment ...

I think its that street car thingy, Nick. Certainly not my scene, I know that. Trashing around Welsh A and B roads is more my cup of tea. :drive:

edit: and unclassified roads too, of course.

"That street car thingy" I was able to work out for myself - I thought perhaps Si could provide some more detail. I agree it sounds a bit Max Power for the likes of me and you ... :D nts ... nts ... nts ....

usc santa pod 8-9-10 aug.. ultimate street car.. fastcar magazines festival... go up and destroy subaru/evo/cossie...:D

I have to be in a certain mood for "nts nts nts nts" - I think going out on a Saturday night alone probably.

Normally its more David Gray / Dido / Stereophonics / Feeder.

It's a national qtr mile event where road legal cars get a chance to thrash it out against each other in different classes. (something for everyone)

Doesn't matter what you come in as long as it is road legal and willing to "give it a go"

Sound heard from outside a car which has been given the MP treatment. And no, not a dump valve speaker... ;)

go on rob explain further?

Bass / Trance / Dance music - Its how it sounds to someone on the outside of the car because the bass is all that can be heard, hence the nts nts nts nts... Its the only way to translate the sound into type really... :D

Imagine nova-boy on a saturday night... That sound!

see your GP your wind should be that bad?

Im up for it, let me know when the date is and will be able to tell you f im available.

Just looked at the website - it's definitely an nts ... nts ... nts event. The queues to run on the strip must be horrendous - but at least you will be able to hear the music over the roar of engines :p

Not for me then. But you knew that anyway :D More of a down to earth, run what ya brung even though it hasn't got tinted windows and a huge stereo kind of a guy.

PS maybe the odd Subaru but surely you're dreaming where Evos and Cossies are concerned .... ?

wait and see.... ask jon!

So you're talking major mods then before it can be achieved then?

  • Author

of course butwhen did you see a std scooby/evo that was quick... they are all modded to hell.

Im up for, this, I was wondering when flooring it on a quarter mile or any road for that matter, would you get a quicker lift off with the traction control on or off. If its off the wheels will spend and takes a while to grip the tarmac, while if its on the power is reduced at the wheels, which is best?

Hello everybody, this is my first post on this forum, I would love to come along and see what 1/4 mile times i can do in my vrs...give me some dates!

You should have a faster 1/4 time with the traction cantrol off and trying not to spin the wheels too much.
