Speechless

Featured Replies

I have just has a call from my Skoda dealer to inform me that my Yeti has arrived that was ordered on the 25th October that's just 10 weeks.

I even questioned him that the order was mine and that all the options were correct he said he's checked and double checked and it is correct, I'm speechless didn't expect to see it until March.

Presumably less demand for the 1.8 petrol engine.

Its not very tax efficient as a company vehicle, and a lot of private buyers will avoid it and go for the better economy of the diesel?

You could ask them to hold it for 8 weeks so you get the new registration!

Pleased to hear your Monster has arrived but not surprised myself as it's a 1.8TSI; deliveries on these are at a more realistic level due to a lower demand for this engine.

Probably another 2 months at least before I see my diesel 4x4 ordered two weeks after yours.

Regards,

TP

We have an annual registration so there is no registraion prefix so all vehicles registered after 1st Jan are 2011 until 31st Dec.

40mph speed limit and a DPF on a diesel don't go well together so went for the petrol.

Wow! When we looked at getting a Scout James at Allams also said the 1,8 TSI will be quickest to get. I did not think it would be THIS quick! You lucky man!!! Enjoy!

Would the quick delivery apply to a Yeti 1.2TSI DSG?.

Also the 1.8tsi is a very good and responsive engine, so a good choice if mpg isn't a big issue for you.

Not a chance! That's one of the options with the worst bottleneck I believe (unless it's changed recently).

Average 2500 miles a year so MPG isn't a big issue :giggle:

It'll be scrapped before it's even run in ! :smirk:

Combination of 1.2 TSi and the DSG is probably the cause - ordered mine end Oct. and still no provisional build date.

For those who have taken a recent delivery of this combination, how long did you have to wait from placing the order to the vehicle's delivery?

Are these taking as long or even longer than the diesels?

if someone is looking for a 1.2tsi DSG in silver, no sure of the spec but beleive it's an SE.

palmers of watford have a brand new one in their showroom

September 10th - November 21st build week 47 - Available to collect December 8th (from James at Allams)

I expected mid January - February when the order was placed.

I'm picking up my TDI 170 later today now, which I ordered on the 16th October

Sounds as though your build week was moved forward Fred?

At long last I have now got week 15 as a provisional build which of course can go backwards or forwards.

IF that build week is actual and allowing 3 weeks to collection (end April), it will have been 27 weeks from ordering. Seems currently about par for the course ?

Yes, my 170 4x4 Elegance ordered 18 August, build week 3 confirmed, anticipated delivery late Feb/1 March ie 25-27 weeks from order to delivery.

Well as my other post ordered mine 05/11/10 and given WK05 provisionally. Added front park sensors in place of Anna alloys before Christmas and the provisional build moved to WK07.

However as of yesterday that disappeared, so I currently have no provisional build week allocation. Also received a warning from James that Skoda is currently experiencing (possibly serious) supply v demand issues on the diesel engines, which is envisaged to last well into the first year quarter if not beyond. Further customers like myself wanting diesel 4x4 are being asked (by Skoda via the dealer) if we wish to change the specified engine to 1.8TSI. Personally I'm holding out for the diesel as very few 1.8TSI are sold round here; took a local dealer a year to shift their 1.8TSI demo they had from launch.

Have also spoken briefly with a local salesman this morning and he appears concerned as their loosing some custom over the long lead times. He further suggested that they are advising potential customers to expect a 61 plate if ordering now on certain models.

I am so hoping that I do not get this call. Ordered 24th September, CR170 provisional build week 7, if it got put back too far I would be tempted by the 1.8TSI, or maybe not!! arghhh
