what was the reply?

Summit along the lines of that I MUST be the expert, and that he'd been to skoda and because it had gold flakes in the paint it was panther black and how would I know about the power without looking under the bonnet.

If he wants to make claims of 300bhp I think he needs to list a few of the mods!

You mean you can't tell just from the ad?

Original power = 180bhp, but everyone knows VAG engines put out more than standard, so call it 200.

Leather, that's got to be worth another 20bhp (although it looks standard leather / alcantara to me....)

Dump valve is good for another 20bhp, and so's the exhaust.

So that's a running total of 260bhp, which of course rounds up to 300bhp.

Simples!
