Skoda Octavia 2 Facelift - parking lights LEDs... question...?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I want to replace the original parking lights w5w halogen bulbs on my Facelifted Octy 2 with LEDs ?

This is it:

I am with classic equipment, so i don't know if there is any CAN bus bulb error handling or not?

I want to buy this one from ebay:

2x T10 w5w Super White 9 SMD LEDs.

Do I need to buy CAN bus Error free or I can just replace the halogen bulbs with this ones?

Please help... I don't know what to do and I can't just test it, because i don't have any LED bulbs...

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

The parking lights (usually called 'sidelights' here in the UK) are not halogen, they are just regular filament bulbs. However they are checked by the cars bulb failure circuit so any replacement LED's need to be 'CANBUS' compatible ones.

Loads of threads on here at the moment about this, indeed I have just done thejob myself this weekend having obtained a set of LED's from another member. Be aware that many of those on ebay either prove to be very blue, or as in the case of the ones I got originally, don't work at all!

Check out this thread: link here. Most of us seem to be pre-FL owners, but I don't think there are any major differences on the FL models, other than the shape of the light units.

I got these for my Octavia which have 2 leds none directly to the front

Hi there! Just wondering; how did U get those standard bulbs out of the light unit? I`ve just purchased LEDs myself but after removing the xenon ballast unit I only can see a plastic "stick" connected to the side light bulb. Twist or pull??

Reviving this old thread. alberg, do you still have these sidelights on your Octavia. I am looking for white 5w5 sidelights and there just seem to be so many out there, I am confused.  :dull:

Aslong as they are advertised as no canbhs errors you should be fine. This means they have resistors in the circuitry to fool the cars ecu.

Got me some LED sidelights but I can't get the originals out. I have a halogen housing not factory fitted xenons. Any advice on how to get it out?

Thanks Alberg. I took the headlight out as you suggested as well as the H7 bulb. Gave me more room to work with a long nose plier. Twist and pull.

Hands are still cut from the first attempt though :giggle:
