312mm brakes

Featured Replies

Just after some opinions really. I have 312mm brakes on the Fabia just now but we have a new Octavia on order so the Fabia will be going when it eventually arrives.

I will try to sell the Fabia privately and if I do so I will more than likely leave the 312mm brakes on it. However, if I trade it in or sell it to someone who wants it standard I will take them off and sell them.

Is there still a high demand for these kits? What sort of price are they fetching these days? I fitted them myself but I don't have the time these days to do that sort of thing so I'd have to pay a garage to remove them- just want to make sure it's worth my while doing that!

Well, if you take them off, I'll probably have them :)

So what you're saying is they're worth about 50p but you'd give me a tenner for them since you're nice like that? :p :D

Will keep you in mind if they come off.

Seriously though, anyone noticed what these are advertised/sell for these days?

I would certainly say that if you put them in the for sale section, someone would buy them. Some of the new Fabia Vrs owners may be interested too as they would fit that car as well.

You'd get more than the 12 quid outlay for joining Freedom so you could sell them on here, put it that way!

Cost wise just leave them on the car and let someone else enjoy the superior stopping power of the 312's.

id give you £100 for them

Yeah :giggle: Nah, I'd better kotlewski69's offer above.

Thanks :)

Depends on condition I'd say. How is the paint on the calipers, how much left on the discs and pads. That will dictate the price.

For a good condition 2nd hand set, with a reasonable amount left on the discs and pads I'd say £150.

Thanks for the coments guys.

I did what I should have done in the first place and did a quick search on eBay- £200-£250 seems to be about the asking price. No way of knowing what they actually make though.

Calipers are excellent condition paint wise, although they are green so it kind of limits the market to Skoda owners unless people are willing to strip and paint themselves.

No idea how much meat is left on my discs and pads though tbh

I'll do a bit more research when the time comes and become a freedom member

At least I now know it should be worth my while paying to get them removed if I trade the car in. Cheers.

You'd get over £100 for the carriers alone!

They'll find a buyer on here I'm pretty confident, so no issue over green-ness :)

Those eBay prices seem quite high (nothing new there!). When I first got a set, they were brand new TT setups that were coming off at dealers for the 332mm setup to go on, they were £225! So that's new everything - pads, discs, calipers and carriers. They subsequently went upto £275 I think, later on. This source then dried up when the Mk2 TT arrived, with its 5x112 setup.

It's a very popular upgrade and as the car should have been from the factory really. So while a lot of people have already done the upgrade, there should be plenty still remaining who'll be interested.

Yeah, that's the same source I got mine from (GolfTurbo). I'm sure I got one of the last sets. Not sure how much I paid but I had it in my head it was around the £300 mark so £275 sounds right.

Those were the ones!

Use the 'show completed items only' search function - shows exactly what they make.

I found £167.99 for a 2nd hand set, with no adapters.

Good lad, never knew about that, thanks

No problem ;)

again, just to throw my 2p in here, I think the going rate for full setup is about £200. Probably because this isn't really a bad price in relation to uprated pads and discs in 288mm (although postage costs need to be considered).

Judging from the responses so far, I don't think you'll have any problem shifting them.

For the record, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my 312's!

i was bidding on discs calipers carriers pads and lines on ebay. they went for £167!

well i am currently looking into getting this as we speak, and if it came straight off another fabia that would be even better :D

if you are seriously selling, message me!

Octavia won't be here for about six months so I won't be doing anything to the Fabia untill then.

I will let you all know if I come to sell them though
