Wheel choice

Featured Replies

It appears that most seem to go for the Annapurna option (now £100 ) over the standard Spitzbergs. Am I alone in preferring the standard Spitzbergs to the Annapurnas - also the latter mentions "polished", is there a difference apart from the obvious design aspect?

I preferred the Annas, Spitzbergs, couldn't see the point of spending an extra £100 on something that you cant see from inside - and no-one else can see when you are moving!.

(Edit - Oops, sorry, I meant standard Spitzberg alloys, not Annas. It's the Annas that are extra!)

+1 :giggle:

For me, the choice was colour dependant, but anything that is visual will be highly subjective.

You are not alone. I was very happy when the Spitzberg shortage only lasted a short while. I was dreading getting my car with Anna’s as I find their slender spokes a bit busy and more Superb-like than Monster-like. But each to their own as with all these things.

To me the Annas just look a lot more difficult to clean. All those spokes and hollows. :o

Yes, but the finish is shinier, so that should help a bit. Having good cleaning kit helps.

Me, I love em on my car, can't wait for the warmer weather to put them back on. That's just me though. ;)

I agree! I've had enough of the all black look of mine now! I want my quiet big alloys back!

I'm lazy. That's a big thing to factor into things like cleaning the car. :D

I wash the Yeti, but I sure as hell don't wash the Rangie. The wheels are a nightmare on that and it takes ages to do the whole thing.

Personnally not keen on the 17" options full stop, however if I had to put them in order of own preferance then;

1. Dolomite

2. Anna

3. Spitzburg

TP

I Really like the chunky five spoke ones as fitted to my SE.

Seems appropriate for a 4x4 but these things are all personal of course.

I'm happy with my Spitzbergs.

Ana....s are too fussy and to me the 'polished' look is against the ethos of a chunky, workmanlike 4x4.
