Eibach Pro springs

Featured Replies

A bit gutted after the dealer telling me it would be £300 and 1 day in garage to fit my Eibachs.

Is there any VAGCOM diagnostic issues to worry about if I get a non Skoda guy to do the job....

Have you got the springs as the Skoda option is now deleted.

Yip, the Fun Prevention Officer got me them for Chrimbo...A local garage would fit for £120, but is worried about the diagnostic system.

Don't worry as long as they are fitted by a fully VAT garage

Can't see what problems they forsee with the diag system????

All they are doing is fitting springs???

As long as they don't turn the ignition on if they have to disconnect ABS sensors in order to fit the front springs (not sure if you need to or not) then I can't see that anything else could cause issues?

your being bluffed there mate. my coilovers didnt take that long to fit, and there was zero diagnostics going on either

Yep, what a load of twaddle! A day in the garage to fit some springs?! Factor in 30 mins a corner.

Where are you? If you put a bit of geo location in your profile, we might be able to suggest somewhere suitable.

Out of interest Rob what defines the springs as Skoda rather than just Eibach? Is there a marking on the springs or are they just in a Skoda box?

They are marked Eibach and in Eibach Box, no Skoda markings except on box identification panel..They wern't supplied by dealer, they came from supplier

Shocks and springs are quite an easy DIY job with the correct tools go elsewhere.

I've just been quoted £370 at the dealer's reduced rate (would be £625 at full rate). Good discount but I make that 5 hours! Should be half that tops I reckon, 30 mins a corner + 30 mins on the alignment machine for someone with a lift and some experience.

I'm sure I read on here that someone got a VW main dealer to do theirs for ~£180.

If someone can recommend a good place near Luton that'd be great. I'd consider doing a DIY job but I'm not 100% confident about dismantling the front suspension. I guess I'd need spring compressors too?

I'm having Midland VW do mine for £185 fully setup

That's actually half what I've been quoted. Mental. It's worth the drive up for that!

No too far up is it? Midland have been recommended to me by a few happy peeps at Seat Cupra.Net

I'm going to get quotes from a few local places too I think. I've had VAGTech in MK recommended to me.
