New VRS is here

Featured Replies

I'm rather excited, so much so I've started my first topic!

I collect my new car this weekend. Octavia Vrs Estate TSI in Anthracite with leather seats, auto dim mirror, rear window tint, raised boot thingy, full size spare and silver roof rails**.

Having arranged the complimentary 7 day insurance from Skoda, I thought I'd shop around for insurance quotes. Skoda offered £440, Direct Line (current insurer) started at £570 before dropping to £460, and Esure won at £366. The Esure rep did make it sound like having winter wheels/tyres (dealer fitted) was a risk rather than a safety thing, and that I must adhere to the manufactures guidelines etc. I expect not having winters would have saved me this lecture! Still at least the winters didn't add anything to the premium.

Time to clean out the old Nissan Primera I suppose.

Roll on the weekend!

**(I know, no maxi-dot, no heated seats and no curtain airbags. I should have done more research before I ordered it last September).

Cheers,

Steve

Wanna swap with my 2005 Fabia VRS, Zabba, (If you have second thoughts) emoticon-0140-rofl.gifLOL

2003 Nissan Primera for a 2005 Fabia VRS sounds like a fair swap to me :giggle: Where do I sign?

Alas a Fabia would be no use to me. I play the drums, hence buying the biggest boot this side of a Merc E class est was the driving factor for me. Well that and 200bhp!

Oh, and the much cheapness (in comparison to the Merc) of course!

Had your Nissan insurance run out for the year ?

I took the 7 day free insurance when I picked mine up just before New Year, but contacted my current insurance to pay a top up & transfer to the Octy.

Whist this only cost me an extra £65 for 9 months ( previously on a FIAT 500). It has the added benefit of not having, the Tax & Insurance outgoings at the same time each year, along with adding the MOT in 3 years.

Maxidot i think was your only missing item. emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Or some electronic drums?? I have the Roland HD1 's and they are such a compact kit with a big sound you could get them around dead easy. Great for gigging.

Enjoy the car. I have the vRS 170 estate and have had it longer than any car I have owned and still, despite a few problems, have no desire to sell it. When I do eventually sell I am considering the TFSI vRS estate with DSG.

Have you got a pic of it in red? My Mk 1 vRS was red, loved it, but didnt fancy my new estate in red so went with Blue, as everyone else was buying common candy white (looks like a van)

For me, I was torn between red or blue, but I had my Mk1 for 8 years from new in red, and just fancied a change.....

Thanks mate, I am really looking forward to the car.

I have three drum kits. A 90's Premier Signia, a 00's Premier Artist Maple and a Roland TD12 KX. The Signia is always cased up ready for gigs, the artist maple is always set up in the practise room, and the TD12 for playing/recording at home.

I've yet to gig an electric kit, mainly as it "feels" wrong. I'm sure I will one day get over my "playing electric drums" live hang up, when I do we'll need to make a few changes to the PA (bass bins, in-ear monitors etc) before it could be used.

Cheers,

Steve
