QUICK DPF QUESTION

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me roughly how often the DPF regens itself , and does it normally do this unkown to the driver?

I have a 170 pd VRS 08 reg with 94500 miles on it . In all that time I have never had the DPF light come on ( exept on ignition turn on ) ,

I have never had the " burning smell" or the radiator fans running effect as is often mentioned .

The DPF is doing its job because the exhaust tail pipes are not even slightly sooted even after 94500 mls! in fact , if you shine a torch into them you would swear they had only just been fitted !

All my miles are high speed / motorway miles ( hence the milage ) so maybe this helps? Ta ,

As often as is needed. Only time the regon light would come on is if you have not reached the set speed for set time. Its there to prompt you to re-gen it yourself.

In normal use, motorway etc driving it should just take car of its self.

Also its worth doing a quick search on here as its been covered alot. There is alot of useful info to read
