How much were the nets, and was this from a dealer?

I use a few hooked elasticated luggage straps. I find they are adequate to hold things in place, but remain out of the way when not required. The net under the parcel shelf is very useful though.

Nets are part #: DMA 410 007 and cost 26.99 gbp from your local dealer

Thats great - thanks for the pics - exactly what I'm looking for really.

Easy to fit?

Cheers![/quote']

3 piece nets were

Thanks for the pics, it looks like it will be worth the purchase :)

Was at my local dealer, I see the new must have accerssory for the Furby is a starting handle............only joking, a rubber boot mat is probably the best boot orientated accessory you can get.

Seeing as we are the subject of boot storage' date=' err, I've got this strap in the boot, left hand side. Whats it for?

I'm guessing it's for fire extinguishers in countries where this is a legal requirement. I've got a torch in mine, the only useful bit of a clutter I carry around with me that doesn't dance around the boot during cornering.

I think the nets alround option looks a goodun (The pics were v. useful!), although I'm not so sure about drilling into the trim :S. Although I suppose even I could cope with cutting what is basically, a bit of cloth.

yes flacid-ness could well be a problem! The net looks as if it was designed for a considerably bigger boot, and doesnt seem to have a huge amount of stretch around the edges. It certainly doesn't shrink to fit like some cargo nets. I usually have a big plastic box under mine so it fits quite nicely over it, just its a bit loose for the smaller items.

What sort of size is the big plastic box? The kind of thing I had imagined transporting using under the net would be computer tower sized boxes (for want of a better example) - would this be a snug enough fit?

Cheers, yhwman

PS - So many replies to a post about fabia luggage nets! Surely these are more popular than Fabia WRC's!

Fire Extingusher eh? Could be I guess. But why would you want an extinguisher in the boot? I mean by the time you've parked, jumped out, got round the back, fiddled with strap and got extinguisher out, your engine will be cooked.

Oh well. Just let it burn and get the marshmellows out I say.

I believe it's for a first aid kit.

I hear you can also wire up either a Golf/Audi front interior light for the Fabia, and apparently its different somehow? Also apparently the Golf MK4's grab handles fit the Fabia too?

They will...

but they aint made in the same colour as the fabia vRS headlining :o

In Holland it's first aid kit, warning triangle and a spare light-bulb set (not sure on the last one). Not quite sure how that's gonna work out for me as I've got the Xeons on order and I sure as hell ain't gonna have a spare of those in the boot

Not if you order the grab handles from the Anniversary Golf, that also had black headlining. The W8 illuminated light console however only came in beige or white, someone in the States painted this to match their black headlining so anything can be done if you have the patience.

I have one of these glasses holders on the Superb loan car I'm driving - it's a very trick gadget and I'd like to get one. Shame it doesn't seem to come in black. Surely at some point they'll start making one though?

The 'buy the grey/beige one and spray it' method looks like the best we're going to get at the moment. I suppose it won't be until one of the VAG-group start making a common model, with this holder, with a black headlining, that we'll get an all-in-one solution :D

Steve

i use the strap in the boot for my very exspensive oil (1 ltr bottle )

For 10.50 I'd remember too - lurvely markup on that no doubt :D

It's good to know they (VW garages) don't skoff at the badge though :D :D

I've got the parcel shelf luggage net fitted and I've found it great for the ice scraper and other small bits and bobs.

I wouldn't trust it for a steering lock as it's all elaticated and will just stretch.

Something I've found useful for the tourch, oil, washer fluid etc is a small-ish plastic box with a bungee cord around it.

Well Santa bought me the storage bags that go in the boot between the wheelarch and the light clusters. The left one as you look into the boot is great but there seems to be something of a design fault on the right hand one: they attach by velcro to the carpet that lines the boot, however on the right hand one, the velcro is alongside the solid plastic light cluster and no velcro on the side of the carpet on the wheelarch :s

I think a call to Skoda Customer Services is needed...

On mine, with the zip facing into the boot, there is velcro on the side facing forward onto the wheelarch and the side facing the side lining - gives a relatively firm fix. There's no velcro on the fourth side facing the rear/lights.

Cheeky - think you may have it upside down pal! :o

I don't think someone could consider putting it in upside down owing to the shape

Mine fits exactly like your pic, has stayed in place for last 6 months no problem. Mind you I don't fill it with sockets or heavy stuff, too much weight and it'll tear off the velcro most likely. The boot area "carpet" lining materials are also not very secure and pull out easily so you don't want to hang too much on them anyway.

I know I look dense but credit me with some intelligence PLEASE! LOL ;)

Photo attached of bag in situ but pulled forward a bit to show the velcro facing into the light cluster. There's velcro on the side opposite the zip but none on the wheelarch side. I'd say deffo a manufacturing fault, eh?

I've not got one of these so I don't know, but is one side curved or does it just bend to shape? If it bends I would think the one pictured in the last post is for the passenger side of the boot.
