Audio Wiring - can anybody help?

Featured Replies

I've got a new stereo and fitted it in my car - all fine but it won't remember things stored - the stero manual says to change wires around - A4 and A7 in iso connector which i did but no difference

Reading on net it says change the red and yellow wires but.... I have no yellow wire!! just browns, blues, reds so i'm now completely stuck - Any ideas?????

Red and yellow normally refers to 12v live (always), and alternator 12v live (when key turns one click) respectively.

Its not the wiring on the car you have to change its the wiring on the loom that comes with the new stereo! :)

You could always just buy one of these B)

loom - it didn't come with any thing? the ISO connector on the car just plugs straight in to the stereo...

12v Live and 12v Switched mate ;)

VAG put them backwards. buy an ISO extension swap them on there and you can return back to STD.

SONY are the only ones to join the VAGside :)

I suppose there's nothing stopping you de-pinning the ISO connector and swapping them around on the ISO connector.

There should be a little blue wire dangling out of the radio on it's own. That's the memory wire. You just connect to a live source.

I thought the blue wire was a live feed *from* the stereo and the cause of many Skoda dealer's diagnostic equipment being destroyed when incorrectly wired in.

Well my JVC memory is working fine and my vag-com is working fine.

Thats the remote wire - sends a signal to any external device to tell it the HU is on.
