Coolant Light Flashing

Featured Replies

Guys,

Next problem.

My engine coolant light flash on at all different external temperatures (sometimes at 9C and not at -4C) also the engine doesnt get up to optimal temperature. The wierd bit is that when I switch engine off after say 5-10 mins driving the light goes out and never comes on again. Have checked all the levels and they are fine same as they were at the service.

Any ideas what this is as im never near my garage or a VAGCOM when it happens can read the fault.

Cheers

Try using a flat head screwdriver and clean the two prongs in the expansion tank as they can get clogged up with gunk etc.

Also if car gauge aint sitting bang on in the middle try replacing the coolant temp sender, not expensive from skoda

It does sound like a faulty CTS, these are a common faliure across the VAG range.

Orange flash = water level

Either CTS or thermostat issues, but I would probably go for the one half of the CTS being dodgy....
