Hi all

Well because of this site I went and looked at an Octavia, having recently had a Mazda 6 2.0D Sport and recently a 3.0 V6 CDTI vectra remapped to 220bhp. To be honest I wasnt expecting much of the Octavia and it was simply on a list of cars that I was looking at as a change. After test driving Mondeo/Insignia/A3/A4/Golf and the Octavia.........................I came away having bought a new Vrs Petrol !

The Octavia was to put it bluntly bloomin fantastic value ! The A3/Golf were simply too similar for much more money and I couldn't justify that for a badge.

The Mondeo just felt like a barge and it felt cheaply put together and i left with the impression that it wouldnt last very well. The Insignia I was surprised about as inside it felt more 'driver orientated' and had that little bit of solidness that the mondeo lacked, but the price was ridiculous and it felt heavy for the 2.0T engine.

The A4 was 'very' nice but a saloon doesn't fit my needs and an estate was overkill !

Therefore the Octavia had the best balance of all my requirements, I was really surprised as I previously would not have even considered a Skoda I suppose you could have said I was a 'blinkered' driver.

But hey ho I am really pleased to be a new Skoda owner and I look forward to being an active member on the boards.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum.

IMO they are the car brand that offers the best value for money. A smart choice

HI and welcome aboard.
