Delayed VRS delivery

Featured Replies

Ordered my first Skoda September 2010 a Deisel VRS hatch and was told delivery would be around build week 5 have been told today that build week has been put back to week 11 ! and this is not confirmed.

Always used to buy a new VW every 2 years but have switched to Skoda due to price.

I understand that they are having supply problems with the diesel engine and the VAT free offer now only stands on the petrol model.

When I spoke to SUK they could not offer any explanation as to the delay I do not understand how their planners have got it so wrong why were they taking orders for cars they knew they could not deliver in the expected timescale.

Skoda need to be carefull as it will not take long for owners and future owners to decide 6 months is to long to wait for a Skoda.

Any one else have this problem and what are you thinking of doing cancelling or waiting .

Lots of us have had the same issue. There are many threads on the subject. I waited over 6 months, but it was worth it! Good luck.

Its not just skoda with supply issues on diesel engines since the whole VAG group use the same suppliers.

Are Skoda the bottom of the supply list?

Yes, we just get what failed the VW and Audi quality tests emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

As previously explained, there are very long waiting times on Diesel Octavias, any ordered before end of Dec are still being juggeled through the order books, dealers have been told that there is going to be a VERY long delay on any new orders- I waited 23 weeks for mine- No regrets. :)

as it stands my Scout TDI is scheduled for building (not even delivery) in week 19 - that would make 33 (thirty-three!) weeks from order. that's 8 months everyone

I wonder how many M&S vouchers that would be..

audi, vw & skoda all compete from the same VAG suppliers and parts bin - no prizes for guessing who VAG gives priority to.........

This all seems to be inconsistent. I ordered my vRS LHD DSG late November, and now have buildweek 5. It's as good as confirmed according to the dealer. It is scheduled without any errorcodes, but lacking one final confirmation code, wcich is why dealer says as good as confirmed.

I ordered my Diesel VRS DSG in December and have so far been told build week 8 - but I'm not get carried away with this date based on experiences posted on this forum. It will probably mean I cancel and look elsewhere when it starts to slip.

However a couple of things to throw in the discussion....

I got a call from a Skoda dealer today I had contacted when looking for an ex-demo VRS before Xmas. He had nothing new but I got chatting about the delays and he seemed to think it was not random and your chances of being near the front of the queue is influenced by the dealer you purchased from. Some have much more clout with Skoda than others and may be able to put more pressure on them. A large dealer group may be better than an independent for example. It may be worth looking back at some of the longer delays - were they from major Skoda dealers or not?

My other thought is regarding emergency service Skodas. Kent Police, for example, use Skoda as their main supplier. They seem to have a lot of 60-plate VRS estates suddenly. Do you think they waited 6-months? Again may explain why dates get pushed back for private sales?????

Her's hoping we all start getting some good news - but not holding my breath!

the only thing consistent seems to be that you get your car far quicker if you are not in the UK..

Take a look at my thread created will give you idea of how inconsistent it all is. The comment re the dealer might have something in it.
