MFA Display, is it working correct ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Got my new Superb Combi from the dealer last wedensday. I am very satisfied so far !

But the MFD has a annoying behavior. I always has it on "Avg. Consumption", which I also had in my previus Passat. Some times when I start the engine the MFA comes up showing randomly "Speed", "Oiltemp" or "Distance left".

Is this normal ?? The manual does not say anything about this. I would expect it to start in same mode as I left it. And no, I am sure now that I am not touching the bottons on the steering wheel.

Anybody experiencing the same ??

Cheers

Soren.

I pretty much "think" mine stays on the same as last used.

Could it be that it shows oil temp until it gets warm, or fuel left if your getting too low... it's a long shot, but just a though

Had mine two months now and it stays where I left it.

It doesn't take much of a touch on the thumbwheel on the steering to change to the next display.

Ok, thanks for the replies.

Superbalicious, I was thinking the same. Also maybe it does not like to show avg. consumption from start, where it obviously can not be calculated.

I will give it some more days. The car is brand new and has only 300 km (about 200 mi) on the clock now.

Great forum BTW.

It should show it straight away. When it first comes on it just shows dashes ie _ _ _ _ _ _ _

[i always have mine on Average Consumption the same as you want. It never moves unless I scroll the thumb wheel and as reddog said it shows dashes until it is ready to show the calculated figure

Mine is usually on average mpg or oil temp (which shows '- - -' below 50 degrees C) and it doesn't change unless I tell it to.
