Multi Fuction Steering Wheel Lights

Featured Replies

Just wonder in anyone actualy uses the switch on the steering wheel to switch off the button lighting...

I don't, and can't really see the point for the lights on/off switch - it's a shame it can't be reconnected/coded to do something useful emoticon-0103-cool.gif

Do you mean the switch to dim the lights of instruments?

There isnt a switch on the steering wheel that dims the lights!!

Huh? No lighting button on mine!

The most useless button on the car no I don't use it !!

My L&K had the MFSW with 8 buttons, the button with a little steering wheel and a light bulb icon killed the green illumination to all 8 steering wheel buttons. Not much use really, I liked the look of the illuminated buttons, I miss the mute button on my Superb though.

I often wondered about this aswell !! a stereo mute button would be so much more useful

My old L&K had it and I never used it. My Snow Monster has one as well. What can we remap to it?

Mike

Skoda have obviously recognised its uselessness and have removed it from the Octavia FL MFSW

Buttons on mine (4 spoke, no phone support) - each side has a multifunction roll-wheel and 2 buttons - LHS roll wheel for radio volume (also push it short to mute, push it long to turn radio on/off), 2 buttons - back and forward (radio station, cd track etc); RHS roll wheel to scroll through maxidot readout (also push it short switches computer 1 to 2, push it long resets computer) and also acts as select in maxidot menu), button to change source between radio and CD/MDI/Aux, button to enter maxidot menus.

NB with MFSW there are no maxidot buttons on the right hand stalk - all on the steering wheel.

It's brilliant! Favourite gadget after auto dimming rear-view mirror!

Just checked my Snow Monster. It doesn't have the steering light wheel button.

it is the 4 spoke with telephone and I have the Columbus as well.

left scroll wheel -, volume up down, push for voice control. Long push does nothing.

left up down buttons change track/station in radio/media

right scroll wheel - maxidot as per eccleshill

upper right button - telephone answer/hangup/last number dialled etc

bottom right button return to previous menu on maxidot.

My car has this utterly useless button also. It reminds me of a similar item found in the flight deck of our 747-400s: next to one of the observer seats, there is a small panel, roughly 4"x3", with two knobs on it. One controls the map light above that seat, the other controls the brightness of the backlighting for that panel...

I have never used the lighting button either but I have a mute button which is above the lighting button. It might depend on when your car was made; mine's a 2008 L&K.
