BALERO fader setting

Featured Replies

Anybody else notice that the Balero's fader setting resorts back to fully front only when the car is turned off? Doesn't matter if you have the surround setting on 'front', 'driver' or 'off' either.

Is this normal on the basis that they presume only the front is occupied or has mine got a mind of it's own.

I think there is a setting in Maxidot for that.

Maybe it needs to be set there ??/

This is not normal.

The unit is possibly faulty

Agreed, not normal and usually happens when the headunit cannot see the rear speakers so defaults to front speaker only mode.

Could be a loose connection, but my bet is on the HU being faulty.

Okay. When I reset it to the middle or even fully to the back it does have music coming out of the rear speakers so they do work properly though.

Not the end of the world and everything else works on it so i'll probably not worry then.

Did you have a look in maxidot display?

Assuming you have that there is some setting there for front/rear balance

Not that I could find. Maxidot deosn't have any audio settings at all apart from the selected position to show which song is playing and it's source instead of MFD.

Nothing in the set-up on the unit itself either. Only adjustability there is the button with the music symbol on it.

I wonder if its' the parking sensors or Bluetooth phone synch defaulting it to front only although that would effect everyone else too.

this is what I found.:

1) MFD

In here you should see settings to adjust the rear volume etc.

Mine is set to 4

Have a look

Cheers, I'll give that a try. Front was 6 and rear 4 so maybe if I make them the same.

yep in PDC I have settings for the volume and the tone of the beeps seperately for the front and back Parking sensors.

Changed both volumes to be the same but didn't fix the problem. Guess i'll just have to live with it.

Ta for your help anyway.

Sorry to hear that.

Was worth a try anyway,,

I don't have anything else to suggest only take it to the dealer to check it out?

I looked again when starting this morning. It's the Blutooth phone sync that does it. Starts on all 4 then when connecting the phone it reverts the speaker setting to the front only.

  • 1 month later...

I had this problem, so asked for it to be checked during my first service of my Yeti today. I was a bit annoyed to discover that the reason the fader option kept disappearing was due to the fact I had no rear speakers installed. I am now checking my original order form as I cannot believe rear speakers are considered optional extras. A retro fit is now required as they are essential on long journey's to keep the fifth playing in a row of "high school musical" isolated to the kids in the back.
