VRS engine change

Featured Replies

Got a change of buying a cheap 05 vrs with a blown eninge , what hassle is involved when buying a replacement engine from another car, will i need ecu, or will my ecu need to be reprgramed , also what about imboliser and keys will keys need to be reprgramed. Or is it a case of buy engine and ecu fit and all is ok. Not sure on this experianced with changing engine but not on something this new so any help on this project would be a massive help

engine code is asz i think

just buy an engine and swap that ,

no need to change looms ecu etc etc there all the same just the engine

what about reprogramming of ecu and keys etc will this need to be done

No as you will be using all of the original components.

Trick is finding an engine, like rocking horse poop at the moment.

There's nothing on an exchange VRS engine that is coded. Just a simple engine swap out. Make sure you check the used cars servo though, if it needs changing, the engine has to come out again.
