New car ordered

Featured Replies

Swmbos MX-5 drove off to pastures new last saturday, so on Friday we wandered down the road to a local dealer and after a quick test drive of a couple of models signed on the dotted line for a new 5 door, excellent deal as we agreed to take delivery in the next couple of weeks. it seems that not all manufacturers suffer from Skodas under supply problem.

So a new sparkly Citroen C1 VT 5 door will soon be sat on our drive. Now before anyone starts taking the **** consider this, road tax £20, 63 mpg combined and it can run on ordinary unleaded, insurance group 1. Ncap 4 stars and it felt like a big car to drive with plenty of poke 0 to 30. We had an appointment to have a test drive and where kept waiting, the guy we where booked with was selling a car, and he sold it, at the same time I overheard another elderly lady signing on the dotted, this was 2.30 pm on a Friday afternoon and they sold 3 cars within the hour to my knowledge!! Good customer service as well, offered coffee whilst we waited and after 5 minutes another sales guy broke off from what he was doing to take us for our first test.

Anyway all this for £6.5 k pics etc to follow :)

Sounds a good deal in these economic times...

Certainly very different Andy!!

I rate Citroens tbh. Had absolutely loads of them over the years, and apart from a dodgy C4 they've been very very good generally.

Bit too much high tech nonsense on the newer models that can lead to gremlins...C4 for instance...but the C1 is a damded good straightforward no nonsense economical mode of transport.

Runs on mainly Toyota parts too iirc, and built in the same factory as the Aygo, along with the 107 too.

Which if my memory serves me right is in CZ, so you can stick a honorary Skoda badge on it :giggle:

My brother went from an Oct'y Vrs to an Aygo and saved lots of money,

Hope your wife enjoys it Andy.

Dont get too excited about the claimed manufacturers MPG as they all seem to be over optimistic, but will get a lot better mpg from it than the MX5 - Happy motoring.

My son had the Pug version, & it got very close MPG to my 500 diesel

my dad has a toyota aygo which is the same car really and he loves it, good on petrol and just overall cheap to run. enjoy

Another "alternative" car Andrew? Good on you mate :)
