Flaky paint

Featured Replies

I had the chance to wash/wax the car properly yesterday, first time since we bought it.

On the sill at the front of the drivers door and the sill between the two nearside doors, the metallic paint is flaking off!!

The car is only a 8 months old Vrs estate, been looked after and not pressure washed to closely(or to often).

It's going in for it's first service soon, so I'll be putting a few issues to the dealer.

Has anybody else with a FL vrs had this problem, if so, did you take it back to the dealer?

You will be suprised how many vehicles are bashed and bumped in transit before they are even registered. 9 times out of ten they are given a quick blow over and you are none the wiser sounds like thats what they have done.

Not there but rear bumper by the load area started to come off. Done under warrenty with no problems. There is about a 4-8 week turn around depending on how long skoda take to come back to the dearership.

I had a patch of rough/blistered paint on the the bottom of a rear door of my last Octavia - fixed under warranty no questions.

I have a very small area of the same thing on the drivers door sill-it looks like just the lacquer lifting IMHO. I'm a bit worried that if I send it to be sorted they'll make an even bigger mess of it though!

Mine was done by DM Keith's in Leeds at the same time as they resprayed the rear o/s quarter where some eejut had misjudged the location of a gate post when reversing into the drive.

For months after I would look at the resprayed areas from all angles in all lights and just could not see where it had been sprayed. Absolutely fantastic job! Colour was Stone Grey metallic.
