vRS or not?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, I currently have a MK4 golf TDI. and i am looking for a new car and the fabia vRS really caught my eye.

Espicially the blue limited edition one, just wanted a few pointers or tips about the vRS, like what are the main differnences between

the limited edition and the normal vRS? also had anyone had any serious reliability problems with them?

Thankyou,

AzzXCI

Only differences between a LE and a normal vrs is the blue paint and leather interior iirc

There are plenty of normal vrs's about that have leather interior though.

Reliability wise I haven't heard of anyone having any major issues, I've had mine over 2 years now and it's been fantastic and the most reliable car I've owned !!!

The limited edition one also has cruise control as standard, but again, many vRS have this either standard or retro-fitted :)

My Fabia is not a vRS (just looks a bit like one), but on the whole is very reliable. My ECU did fail, but I'm assured it was practically a one-off!

Does the LE have rear light tints as standard too, I think? Not that it can't be easily fixed on a standard one if you want them anyway.

My MPG hasn't changed from stock to remapped to Stage 2 Hybrid (calculated brim to brim, not using the trip computer)... go figure!

oh cool, what BHP is that running at now?

Clutches/flywheels turbo's door carriers

You will be used to that coming from a golf tdi anyway

Differences between the SE (blue) are colour coded door handles 6cd changer cruise controll leather seats and rear tinted windows and of course you will be one of 1000 more like 980 because of crashed ones and so on... Same power, wheels ect with no choice of other options like esp, heated seats or airbag.

didn't the vRS get colour coded door handles as standard after a particular year?

For 2007 I believe?

Also, Normal vRS has green calipers but didn't the LE have red ones?

Yep :)

Nothing apart from the paint on the SE is unique or particularly difficult to retrofit. I'd be looking for a low mile, late registered normal vRS with nice options like xenons and heated seats if it were me.

I've seen 2006 ones with colour-coded handles so reckon it must have been some point during that year.

Im not sure about this but my SE has mud flaps, defently from skoda but somebody i know has only the front, same make also a SE dont know if its a option or if all SE's come with them or.....

The colour coded door handles came in at similar time to the BLT engine I think, so 2006 time. Not exclusive to the SE.

Mine has no mud flaps, would also go for as lower mileage one as poss, re-map imho

makes little or no difference to mpg.

Quite sure the limited ones came with a 6disc changer too. Also no extra options were available their for you cant get a LE with zenon lights or any other extras..
