standard airbox modified or open filter relocated behind bumper

Featured Replies

which is better, i have a open filter behind bumper, but i keep seein the odd post about people modifiying the standard airbox, which is better?

this is my post on a modified standard air box.

(On my octavia 130 tdi i put my standard air box back on and cut a hole in the left hand side and added a front air feed, and the car runs alot better then it did with the perfomance air filter.)

I say go back to a standard airbox and modified it

age old argument m8 .... as above then others say cai better .... suppose depends on how much ur motor is modded .... cai/ perform filter bench tests carried out by various companys show improvements and bigger gains with modded motors .. but others will argue that they dont . just decide yourself ... but they improvements minimal either way ( unless ur running 300+bhp suppose )

I've run both and prefer the modified airbox, seems to pick up and perform better. It's not quite as noisy as a CAI but it's up to you what you want from your car
