Interior plastic

Featured Replies

Sorry If there are threads on this, I'm on my phone and can't find the search function!

I'm wanting to tidy up the interior of my vrs, the black plastic is scraped, scuffed and scratched mainly onnthe glove box and door arm rests.. Any product recommendations to try and disguise if not fix these as although not deep marks, they are starting to make it look tatty.

Many thanks in advance,

Kirk

Autoglym make a scuff treatment kit - dunno if it's any good though. Something like Poorboy's Natural Looking Dressing can help hide scuffs, although don't apply it to the handbrake, gearstick, etc.

The interior parts can be quite cheap - the electric window button surround is 40-50p, so it may be worth just replacing them.

I've always had good results restoring tatty, washed out plastics with Carlack 68 - Plastic Care. You need to be careful with it as its very runny, hard to shift off paint work and unless you apply evenly it can dry streaky. Oh, and for god sake don't polish it as it will go shiny.

Actual cuts into the plastic would need filling, usually easier to just replace the bust part as there are enough Fabias being scrapped to provide cheap(ish) donors.

Thanks for the replies, replacing parts is something I never thought of and is a good idea! Will look in to the other products mentioned and give them a go.

Thanks again,

Kirk

a lot of the parts are silly cheap, id price up new replacements before even looking on Ebay/scrap yards etc

I find aerospace #303 brings back the lustre and contrast of all black plastic without making it slippery, and doesn't give that tacky looking "armor all" shine
