Funny electrics problem with 2010 VRS

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got an 09 2010 Octavia VRS TDI and I've just developed a problem. First of all, one of my headlights failed. I wasn't overly fussed until I bought a new bulb and turned on the lights to make sure I'd remembered which side it was. Next thing I know, both side lights and main beams (including Xenons) aren't working. Aha! Must be a fuse, I thought but no, the fuses are fine. Now the glowplug light (the coil icon) is flashing. It's under warranty and everything, so I'll drop it into the garage. Was just wondering if anyone has any ideas and specifically if anyone has experienced this before.

Update: Now the tyre compression warning light has lit up. Just looked in the manual to find out what the icon was - didn't know there were so many!! Might starting ticking them off soon, see if I can't get a full house!

Update(2): Turns out the fault was a loose earthing wire to the fuseboard. This caused both bulbs to blow, although the dealer wouldn't replace them under warranty! However, I must admit the service I received from Saville's Garage, Kidderminster was excellent. They looked at the car straight away, provided me with an excellent quality courtesy car and repaired the car today - can't have asked for anything more!

They wouldnt replace the bulbs?? jesus god it would only have been cost them like 20-30p for a bulb what a joke glad its sorted though.

Not fot HID bulbs some are £100+
