The above car belongs to prolfe, who I believe posts on here as well as on Pistonheads.

That image above (with the white grile surround) isn't my car Tim31, it belongs to a member of Pistonheads who calls himself prolfe. I'm sure, although not positive, that he posts on here too.

I don't have any more images of mine yet, as the car is now filthy and it's absolutely chucking it down up here at the moment!

I got the MDI unit fitted this afternoon. Bought the kit off ebay but decided I was't confident enough to fiit it myself so I got my local car audio installer mob to do it for me (MRD in Bathgate - charged me an hours labour - £40).

I've got the rear mudflaps still to fit, and i've ordered the replacement grill surround and badge this morning from West End Skoda in Broxburn. I also ordered the honeycomb grille insert from superskoda, as well as the rear window blend (milotec) from superskoda too.

I will get the grille surround and the window blend painted in the next couple of weeks, although I might leave fitting the grille until the weather imrpoves a bit (to save it getting all stone chipped with grit etc).

Plan to get the rear windows tinted sometime in the next few weeks too, plus fitting the rear wheel spacers at the same time as lowering the car. Last on the list is getting the wheels painted in a similar shade to rob.e's estate, although I am still not 100% convinced I want to do this yet.

Oh, and I am planning to change the indicator bulbs for the silvertec ones. Need to work out how to remove th headlights first!

Would be interesting to know how much that cost you? It's the first (and probably only) mod I'll do to ours when it arrives. Would also be intersting to know how much it costs to get it painted too

Badge + Grille came to about £66.34 including the VAT. Will update this thread with painting costs once I know!

Great looking vRS

What are your first impressions of the leather interior as I have ordered it for mine.

  • Author

The leather interior is great - nice soft leather and very comfortable. Great when you have a child too, easy to wipe clean.

Thats great oobster we have teenagers and they are worse than when they were young :giggle:

Hi Oobster, if the headlights are anything like the prefacelift ones, they are a doddle to remove, open the bonnet and find the white plastic nut on the rear of the headlamp unit nearer to the centre of the car and remove it. You will find a hooked lever poking out from the inner side of the headlight, above the bumper behind where the grlle normally sits. Pull this lever out and the headlamp will slide out a bit, next pull the headlamp all the way out on its slider, turn upside down and attempt the trickiest bit, removing the plug!!
