Fabia - Ibiza - Polo

Featured Replies

Ok, so it's time to move on from the L&K Octavia. I don't need the masses of room anymore and am looking for a bit more oomph than her 110 ponies can muster.

I've considered a remap but in all honesty I don't really want to modify her engine. So i've decided to down size chassis and upsize output.

I know the 3 aforementioned cars (I should mention I mean the versions of these cars from the middle of the past decade) are all based on the same platform. And all come with the option of the PD130 power plant and 6 speed box.

However the trim level, other chassis components and most importantly cost seem to differ largely.

Can anyone who might have experience with all 3 care to share their opinions on each?

I.e:

How they drive? (in perticular different suspension set ups)

Interior trim options and quality?

Personal opinion on why the price can differ so vastly?

And any other differences between them?

I understand they are fundamentally rebadged versions of the same vehicle. But it seems odd how the resale values are so wildly distant. In regards to this, it would seem that the Ibiza actually seems to come out just about cheapest on average when milage and age is taken into account. I expected the Fabia to hold this title?

Anyway, I hope that isn't too much a bore to read. I'll get freedom sorted out soon and get the Octy on here for sale. I expect I'll have around 4k to play with. In the mean time, the hunt continues!

Many thanks for your wisdom and guidance!
