Octavia II - Multitrip computer aftersales upgrade possible?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've searched the forum but can't find any info on the following...

I've just acquired a brand new Octavia II 1.6 TDI CR but I didn't realise when ordering how basic the multifunction display was - there appears to be no option to get even the realtime fuel consumption displayed!

Does anyone have any advice how this could be 'upgraded'? I would imagine the windscreen wiper stalk would need replacing to provide the extra buttons and the ECU modifying... but any idea on costs??

Many thanks,

Esuoz

Yes, the upgraded trip computer is called Maxidot. You'd need to get a new instrument cluster appropriate for your car, and then coded - including keys and the immobiliser. Plus a different stalk as you say.

Ben (shark_90) has done a fair few. And he has a section on here. Best to put a question directly there, for an idea on cost.

HTH,

Steve

The display on my, non Maxidot, Elegance covers a lot of readings including instantaneous mpg.

Has somthing changed in the specification recently?
