revo technik remap

Featured Replies

After the insulting figure :( I got from the dealers for my SE I have decided to keep it and mod it for a bit more go. :p

Thinking of a remap, been reading about the revo technik remap which takes it to 170bhp and 290lb ft.

Don't want to go mental as car is standard and I don't want to burn the clutch out (have seen some bigger figures too).

Anyone got one of these, as I can get it done fairly local to me (live in N East nr Middlesbrough).

Would appreciate any comments.

After that thinking of lowered springs, RARB and splitter. B)

Cheers

Just tagging onto this thread for my own reasons, sorry to hijack but it's completely related.

I read that Unit 18 (found on here) are doing the Oscarli custom remap, which was written by Richard Washbrook. If someone could correct me if I'm wrong, but Richard wrote the codes for the Revo maps?

Anyway, Unit 18 do it for £250 (according to prices listed from August '10) so it might be worth a drive and save some money?

I currently have the Whiteline RARB and can fully recommend this. It did wonders for the handling, even on the middle setting. I plan to change it to the hardest come summer! I have heard the Jabba one is better, but to be fair, I have never, nor plan to, race my car on a track!

I`v not heard that before. But certainly dont get them confused, a unit 18 map is custom, and written for your car, how you want it. A revo is just a generic load on map, i`v not had frist hand experience of them, however, a few have said they are a bit spikey. Not what you want really when trying to look after ur clutch/turbo

However, i`m running a unit 18 map on my fabia, its excellent, 100% spot on.

Matt

I've got a unit 18 map on mine too. yes, Richard Washbrook has something to do with them.

completely changes the way the car is :)

Just googled it, he WAS revo`s tech manager, but isnt anymore obviously

matt

If you dont want to burn the car out dont get a revo.

Revo are renouned to give a big Boost spike which will kill your clutch and if your not lucky ur turbo.

Give Shark a try they do some good work and is a good guy too!

OK, silly question from the new guy on this board...

What's the deal with maps by Richard Washbrook ?

They seem to have quite a following here.

Ive recently had the REVO 170bhp map, it delivers the power nice and smooth, there is a 3-5k rev 'squirt' but not enough to do the damage described in the above thread. Its how you drive your car that will kill clutches/turbos. 170 bhp is sensible an in my opinion about right for a Fabia VRS. Overall im happy, mine has the original clutch with 60k miles, no sign of damage yet.

Just a man that knows his stuff. Iv not heard a bad thing about a oscari map, drive a car with one and I guess you'll see.

So did rachel who joined the BIMC recently...... 300Ft just on a map isnt good on a std clutch!

im running the shark map and thats a nice smooth delivery thru the rev range ive no experience of other maps tho [apart from whatever was on my car at purchase for a few weeks or so, that was very spikey at low revs 2-3k ish] emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Cheers for feedback, I've e-mailed Shark today too as I've read some good things about them.

Asked about REVO map as I could get it done local - 10 miles away, Shark are 2 hrs drive, but I'm happy to do it if its worth it.

If you are after a Custom map, then there is a place in Stokesley that does it. I think it's called Automark. I have only heard good things about them. I've not been there, so not sure what software he uses or if he has got a Rolling Road.

However if you want to support the sponsors of this site, there is place that does Jabba maps up in Hebburn (near Gateshead). Then of course there is Motoscope who do Superchips.

i've got a shark stage 1 map

one word... SMOOOOTH!
