Can anyone help me in the removal of the dash plate, which is the plastic dashboard trim which surrounds the cd/radio screen and the three heater/ac control knobs?I understand it seems to click into place but I'm having no luck removing it without breakage of some sort!

Cheers.D.

From memory i think i opened the storage compartment below the trim, then pulled gently and evenly along the bottom of the trim until it popped out, then slid a flat piece of metal (came with the window shades for the back) around the edge, gently prising it out of the retainers.

Start from the bottom.

If you open the lower storage compartment in front of the gear stick halfway you can get your fingers under the bottom of the fascia surround and start to lever it out, then just follow up each side.

It shouldn't require too much force, and in the unlikely event you do snap part of it a replacement from Skoda will be under £20, depending on age of car.

Edit: As Indiana says.

Thanks guys-managed to remove the plate damage-free without too much *#**!!*# and fit the alu-look replacement I ordered from SuperSkoda(that's the easy part!).

PS. I thought that lower storage compartment was an ash tray!? Good place for the extra-strong mints anyway...
