Bizarre Behaviour

Featured Replies

Alright all.

Driving home (to Bristol) from Manchester today, my Engine light came on. No odd sensations, no power loss, etc. Pulled up at next services and checked the obvious: Oil, water, hoses, yadda yadda etc. Nothing wrong.

I fitted a Dragon tuning box last week, so figured it might be that, even though I have done about 400 miles on it with no probs so far.. Just to be safe, I disconnected both the power to it, and removed it from the Engine's ECU plug - so it could not function. Carried on with the journey, thinking that must be it, but the CEL lamp did not go away.

However, about 6 miles after I did this, the trip computer reset of its own accord?! I definately did not knock it, both hands were firmly planted at 10 & 2.

Completed my journey, with no other ill effects.

It's going in for it's bushes tomorrow, so I will get my man to stick the diagnosis tool into it, but I'm confused, and have two questions:

Anyone encountered any problems similar to this, especially with a Dragon box?

And

Should I be worried?

Cheers!

And now the CEL has gone off of its own accord!
