Fabia Wrc:- Third After First Stage !

Featured Replies

Cyprus Rally.

1st Peugeot - 9.27.1

2nd Subaru - 9.32.9

3rd Skoda - 9.33.9

And Gardemeister is 7th. Come on Skoda !:drive1:

:bigcrowd:

Excuse my ignorance, but aren't they still in the Octavia?

7th after stg 2.. guess he spun.. but still in there!

assume its still the octavia?

I assume that too? I thought germany was going to be the Fabia debut...?

Is Cyprus the rally thats mostly on tarmac? Or is a gravelly one like Greece?

Lets not get hung up on the model  :o !

Its a Skoda :)

Its gravel.

Gardemeister 14th, Auriol 7th after stage 2

lets hope they can hold it together!

I honestly believe that when the Fabia debuts, we're going to see a lot more of the Skoda team! That car is going to kick some!

And at the end of the first day:

1. 1 Marcus GR

I'm surprised you didn't use 15 posts to tell us that lot, Jon.

Don't encourage him :p

edit: 600... Hmm, doesn't quite have the same ring as 500 and it's a bit far to go to 1000... Ah well, gimme a week ;)

Go Petter! :drive:

If only for preventing another boring, dreary Pug win. That 206 is really something else if Panizzi can be 4th on gravel! Your Burnsy, however, Championship leader or not, is looking less impressive by the event.

I think you will find that most Brits support Colin McCrae rather than boring Richard Burns , so come on Colin !

Auriol now running 8th. Top 6 a possibility.

It's a pity it didn't last. Both Octavia's are now out Gardemeister went off the road on SS9 and Auriol had a mechanical failure (electrics) after SS10. Farewell Octavia. Hello Fabia.

From WRC.com

End of the road for the Octavia

Cyprus

A damned shame :(

I hope my thread mis-title will be a good omen for the first Fabia WRC event :)

Lets hope so :)

I think we would all agree that in this age of short wheelbase little overhang rally cars the octavia has battled weel over the past seasons...

the king is dead... long live the king.;)

The Cyprus rally has been a "retirement party" for a large amount of drivers, not to mention Marcus Gr

got to agree with you... Skoda can win the WRC if VW wants it to....

A shame about the 'Tavias , not a nice way to bow out of WRC competition. Lets hope the Fabia can do the biz (you never know , it may tempt me to buy one...;) ) Congrats to Petter 'Hollywood' Solberg on his win tho , No 2 has been a long time coming!

Now it's time for Skoda Motorsport team to show why they exist, to make it to the top 3 and eventually win the whole event.

Maybe if they make the top 3, channel 4 might give them a mention, then again maybe thats asking too much:mad:

Channel 4's rally coverage is well the pits. Burns and McRae and who ever takes their fancy at the front of the grid is all we hear and see. They seem to forget about the people below the top 5 or 6 in the rally or the manufactures championship. I mean we saw about 6 seconds of Hyundai that whole rally yet they came 7th and we saw about 8 secs of Skoda at the first stage and nothing there after dispite it being the Octavia's last rally and the fact at least one car was always in the top 10 until retirement, again which we didn't the retirement! I watch Eurosports coverage which uses the people from C4 but is much more balanced and enjoyable and doesn't seem to be a second thought wedged into the scedules. On Eurosport we saw the Toni Gardimiester hit the tree stump that put him out from in car and the Alternater failure of Didier
