did the vrs come with a 5speed gearbox? and whats the code if it did

The Mk 1 vRS has always had a 6 speed gearbox. The new one (Fabia II vRS) at the moment only has the 7 speed DSG.

There are a few cars that do have a 5 speed box, however they were originally non-vRSs that have been converted. I think Jason's (Devonutopia) Mongrel still has the 1.9TDI (5speed) box in his and there are a few vRS engined estates around.

ok thanks for that. i have been told that the gearbox in my 1.8 20vt converted polo runs a vrs box, however its only a 5 speed i have, so wanted to check.
