Test driving VRS soon...

Featured Replies

Hi, have booked a test drive in a VRS on Monday, cant wait. Am also considering a Mini Cooper!? Please convince me of the Skodas merits!

Really cant decide at the moment between the two...

Picked my vRS up on wednesday and had to drive from the NE of England on thursday to london and back. I thought I liked the car after the test drive but on the motorway the seemingly never ending torque makes the thing a breeze to drive. I used to be a BHP freak but I tink now I know what all the "torque" (bad pun i know) has been about. USABLE PERFORMANCE and a constant :)

Cant wait till the 1st June to get jabba`d :D

Top Gear - Fabia vRS vs Mini Cooper S.........nuff said......

that wasnt the cooper s on top gear only the cooper 1. Although i would still prefer a VRS over a cooper s.

Im considering buying a VRS soon as well, but i know its the only car i want so no need for me to have a look at any others :o

been looking at the mini2 forums, think Ill forget the Mini!

Ask any Fab vRS owner who has had their car chipped, if they have taken on a cooper s,

My youngest learned to drive in a mini 1, his comment was along the lines of " it's the ONLY 1 he will ever drive again " :(

What a fabulous car... but... the demo had an anoying rattle from the rear, a broken switch, wind noise from mirrors and one of the archliners was hanging out! On a 54 plate so gave me some quality concerns. Also, really dont like the bland interior so not too sure at the mo. However, it drove amazingly, really so good.

Had ours for five months now.No squeaks or rattles.Had fabia 1.4 classic before that.Three years trouble free motoring save for one fuse that cost about 30 pence.

Did see something about the archliner in the autocar long term test on fab vrs(one year).Despite that it was one of the best write ups I have seen. They loved it!

And so do I ;)

Things are looking promising! Have agreed a deal in principal with a dealer...

tbh it didnt really bother me much, its because everything else is so quiet that its noticable.

Oh no, bad news. The valuation the dealer gave on my part ex was good on Sunday... but... now its not! Apparently the person who gave him the price shouldnt have and now I would be in negative equity on my car!!! So, cant really afford to do that even though got a cracking discount on the VRS. Pretty dissapointed but hey, I can wait a while!

I picked up my Fabia VRS on 1st March and it is in a different league to the Mini.

I traded in my Mini Cooper. The VRS is FAR more powerful and much better built. I had only had the Mini for a year and 4000 miles and it had more rattles than a cheap Japanese watch. The ride had no comfort either and would shake your teeth out.

Stick with the Skoda, you won't be dissapointed.

If your car is on HP and you are in negative equity, you can just return it to the finance company if you've paid over a certain percentage. Honest John (www.honestjohn.co.uk) is always going on about this. Good way of eliminating a loss on a duff car.

Dont buy a mini mate they really are bad cars my mate has 1 n it spends more time in garage than it does with him i drive a Vrs myself n minis dont come close i work for skoda also so i get hear what people think n dont think i heard a bad report yet
