Seems The Ecu Is A Consumable

Featured Replies

If the dealer diagnosis is to be believed, my car will soon be on it's 3rd ECU! That's more than it's had cambelts!

I've asked for a second opinion.

If its to have a 3rd ECU then I'd be looking to find the cause of the failure rather than fixing the symptoms by replacing it. My previous octy had no ecu troubles at all in 100K and 5 years of driving.

They are in touch with Skoda to look for a reason. I've told them not to replace the ECU until this has been done. It would be a parts warranty job.

I agree, unless it's a manufacturing defect, the ECU should not fail unless there is something frying it. Or, their diagnosis is incorrect and another sensor is playing up and fooling their laptop.

It's a co. car by the way and I give it back on 4/4/11.

Well Skoda UK say to replace the ECU. Looks like they are a consumable!

Glad I'm not paying!

God this Roomster is slow and awful!
