Greetings All,

Thanks to the members of this forum for their info, I have finally fitted my satnav system. I have a few more questions / problems. Have done searches, but no luck with answers, so here goes.

The car had a reverse sensor display on the Audience unit, but it disappeared when I fitted the Columbus. Is it possible to have the display come up again?

The maxidot display has come up with the Navigation display selection (happy about that), but once a selection is made, I cannot select another function ie Audio, without turning the Columbus off. This is the same regardless of which function I am in, it stays in the 'original' selected function.

Lastly, the cooling fans (in the head unit)are still running (not sure how long they should after car is off). I have read this may be a canbus issue, but hoping not.

Could all these issues be that I need to run the VCDS and reprogram the car(just bought a USB Hex-Can from Ross Tech but still waiting on delivery) and my problems will be solved, or could it be bigger than that?

I can't find it now... but I have seen a thread on here somewhere where someone's car battery had been depleted completely due to these fans staying on (after upgrading to a Columbus like you did). And until he had done the CANBUS upgrade he had to resort to taking the radio fuse out every time he left the car... :no:

I have a similar problem, it 'locks' in the Phone menu rather than the Navigation menu. Holding down the function selector button on the stalk switches to the phonebook and I cannot get to any other Maxidot menu. I have found a workaround, starting the navigation switches the display and the I can select the other menus. Sorry this won't help you get out of Navi.
