Beware of order times for 105 DSG

Featured Replies

Ordered 105 DSG Elegance Est with lots of 'bells and whistles mid Dec 10 with a forecast delivery date of early Mar 11 (12 weeks the computer says). Heard rumours last week build date had been changed and it is now not likely to appear before 'sometime in May' although this is not confirmed.

Very disappointing and avoidable I'm sure if only Skoda were more up front and accurate with their forecast delivery times at the point of order.

We'll see if it arrives on time - if it moves further right I may go elsewhere and revist other manafacturers.

just down to the vat and dsg and of course the bells ' n' whisles,Ihad to wait for mine as I put quite a few bells n whisles on mine, skoda just can not make them fast enough plus the dsg are not on the shelf they only order in when a purchase has been made

I ordered a Fabia estate similar to yours on7.12.10 on 12 wks delivery.

As there was no build week advised, I got the salesman to check with Skoda last week, got the answer on Monday, delivery now 23 weeks !!!!

Check out delivery threads for other Skoda models on this site- long waiting times quite common especially for diesel (hence VAT free offer on petrol models just now):wonder:

My dealer tells me that Skoda are able to produce the 'cars' no problem but the issue is VW not being able to produce the engines and gearboxes. How true this is I don't know.

Sounds about right since vw make ask the engines and gearboxes for vw skoda and seat in the same place in germany, they just can't keep up especially with the diesels

Back last October DSG's were taking about 6 months from order to handover.

My 1.6TDi CR 105 ordered end of November was provisionally build week 9 but a couple of weeks ago dealer advised me provisionally brought forward to week 6 - this week.

If so the dealer should be advising shipping / UK arrival / handover very soon.

I ordered a DSG on 2 November and it will be built in w/c 14 March, so if you're being quoted 12 weeks then you're lucky...

Just ordered 105 DSG Elegance, dealer says Skoda's current build time 22-24 weeks.

Cheers

Lee

I ordered the 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance Estate on 31 Aug 2010, was initially told delivery around Dec, then build week 3, then week 1, then week 3 again, told him to now stall delivery till March to get new plate.
