inner cv boot

Featured Replies

following the mass of replies to my last topic (not) i decided to ask mechanic if he was sure this was the problem he had diagnosed as half shaft oil seal leaking as being such...

turns out i got it wrong , its the inner cv boot thats slightly torn and allowing small amount of grease to be forced out....

thats fine, supposedly a slight issue on dsg's on the nearside

is this rubber boot for the dsg the same part number as a manual one

and thanks for the amswers if i get any this time ... but seriously thanks guys

The best thing to do is get you car's chassis (or VIN) number from the windscreen label and go to a Skoda dealer to obtain the part. Manufacturers can - and do - change many parts for various reasons throughout the lifespan of a car model. If you take your VIN number they should be able to get the exact same numbered part as what was fitted when the car was made.

It's not worth guessing as it could be an expensive gamble when the car is in bits and the parts don't match.
