How Much !

Featured Replies

Now i know Audi's price list for options is long but,

In this weeks Autocar they are testing an A7 Sportback 30TDI SE Basic price £48,000

With the options on the car the on the road price is........

£72,965 :o

One of the options is the B & O Sound System at £6300.

Can a run of the mill Audi realy be worth that much?

But it's purty!

I'd have one over an A5 if the lottery comes my way.

i thought long and hard about buying an audi a1, but the spec level is rubbish on them, it seems that absolutely everything is optional on them and it adds up to a very expensive car in the end

Vors Spurch Mug the customer Technique............ :o

How the heck can you class an A7 as a run of the mill Audi ? If you'd said diesel A3/A4 as run of the mill then I'd agree. But the A7 is being punted as the sportier inbetween of the A6/A8.

As he said, run of the mill

I think the rear 3/4 looks a bit wonky myself...although I've not seen one in the flesh yet.

An A7 passed me on the motorway the other day, didn't look terribly impressive but what's with the pathetic Boxster style pop up boot spoiler?? It looked very tacky.

I saw one the other day, white - naturally.

The back end looks clumsy and odd, the mirrors also look clumsy and odd. The front is pretty anonymous and looks like any old A3/A4/A5 clone.

For that money, it doesn't look very special and £73k is a blatant **** take. Imagine the cars available to you with £73,000 in your wallet emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

I would rather have the new CLS thanks.

Had a sit in one when my boss went to pick up his new A4, interior is total luxury and it's a huge massive car, S Class size.

Not surprised you can spec it up to 70k!

The B&O stereo was standard in my bosses A4 S Line SE.

It lookes like an ugly version of a Phaeton imo.

I love it, but I love the A5 Sportback too. Interior looks lovely and the mags seem to think it drives well too. The only clunker to look at in the current Audi line up (at least in my eyes) is the new A6. It looks like a clumsy A4 to me. I would like an A7 :)

I have the B &O system in my A4 and it is surprisingly good too. Good value, as it only cost £500 including the DAB radio on most of the A4s. I think the Bigger Audis have a much more high-end system and it should sound quite a bti better than the A4/A5s

?

?

VW Phaeton :).

VW Phaeton :).

I meant it more as I can't see that at all I am afraid :( The Phaeton is very much a saloon, not a hatchback/sportback in style

Each to their own then :).

Specsavers dear. I'm not totally convinced about the look of the A1, the A3 has always been a hound and the Q7 brings up a little bit of sick every time I see one.

Oh and that R8 thing, pig ugly... *joke*

I think it looks (marginally) better than the BMW 5 series GT, but CLS is nicer.

I actually like the look of the new A6 and as it rides on the same platform as the A7 it should ride and handle better than the old A6 too. It also weighs less than the old one so should be swifter and the stated fuel consumption figures of the 2.0TDi are quite a bit better than my Octavia vRS CR.

The shorter front overhang gives it an improved stance and the Avant should be particularly attractive, but 3.0 quattro with a few extras is in the mid £40K's, so not cheap (but probably on par with an equivalent E class or 5 series).

+1 like a blinged up van with big ears.

I like the A6. Not so keen on the A5. Just looks like an A4 with the back doors welded shut to me.

Thats because it is. They share the exact same chassis.

I don't doubt the A6 will be a lovely and painless car to live with, but as the owner of an A4 3.0tdi Quattro, I don't see much point in the A6 being so similar in many ways. It is a bit Ike the way the last of the Cortinas looked very similar to the Grandas.I also imagine that with a few choice extras you will be looking at nearer to £50K+. If it was my money, I would try and get into the A7 (sell a kidney or something). Actually I would probably try to get into a BMW, but that's another story :D

Amazing how similar it is the the classic Audi 100 Coupe S from the 1970's !

We had a shunt in one of these in about 1978 going up the M6 towards Blackpool. The auto box dropped out of gear and we got hit from behind. It was my uncle's car and my Aunt had a bit of a job explaining to the coppers why there was a large box of porn mags in the boot

You are not wrong Golf-Fiend

I'm minded to agree. The new 5 series is the first decent looking BMW since the E39 and by all accounts is a great car, particularly in 520D form.

I do think in the flesh the A6 will look quite different to the A4/5 though, it certainly has a more purposeful stance and the shorter front overhang makes quite a difference. In truth it looks more like a scaled down A8 rather than an enlarged A4.

As for the Granada, those TRX shod 2.8 Injections were quite a car in their day and looked pretty fetching in Forest Green with the front and rear spoilers and the Recaro front seats! When you see a Granada in the flesh today though they look quite small and are probably smaller than a Mondeo.
