Would you swap your VRS for an S3?

Featured Replies

Simple as that - would you?

Edited by PastyBoy

No, but I only because I do about 15,000 miles a year

Yes

No,

I doubt I would be able to afford the insurance & fuel

Yes, 4WD, xenons and leather = win :)

Although I would have the same style/year 1.9TDI 130 A3 Quattro instead, mate has one, diesel economy, 4wd grip and tuneability!

although the a3 and s3 are great cars inside and out (my last car was an '04 2.0tdi) i prefer being somewhere between performance and economy and with the s3 you only get 1 of those, so i would have to say no

Good everyone so far seems to be on the same wavelength as me:

God i'd love to.

God I couldn't afford to live with it.

Doing over 20k a year is not a wise idea in an S3, however the fact my brother has one he's trying to get rid of cheap is mightily tempting.

How much? :)

Milegae/year/colour etc

If fuel was so expensive probably, but the vrs is a fun car to drive everyday. Can't complain

Nice one, you've got me thinking again haha. Always wanted one of these, but due to commuting between Torbay and Gloucester I couldn't justify the cost of fuel.

Love the style of them though, and the wide arches B) . Something the latest S3 has lost - looks just like an S-line

yeah when my brother had to pop home and collect something from my mums to his place at Christmas I tagged along for the ride.

The car is just so much more planted than the Fabia - 4WD really is awesome. and yeah i guess it was a bit quicker.

And admitting nothing here but at one point he was showing off and we may have touched on sped which had a 4 a 1 and a 0 in it.

That said the fuel light did bing on slightly afterwards to which he commented that he was "f-ing sick of that noise!"

I'd love it but with the other half doing 60 miles a day to work really couldn't justify the expense

No.

I could have bought one... but I bought a Fabia VRS SE instead and am going to tweak it.

I felt detached from the driving experience in the S3, it's nice but less fun and involving.

if i could afford to run 1 similar age as mine then yes..... tommorow.....but the miles i cover requires dirty diesel power :giggle:

I sold my Fabia for an Evo 6, the running costs are more but I don't do the mileage to warrant a oil burner.

I loved my S3, and thinking back now, the fuel economy of the 1.8T wasn't that bad (if driven sensibly)...

I'd be mighty tempted...

Only if you've got deep pockets! In this economic climate not a chance imo

If my fabia was standard yeah like a shot

Matt

Yes deffo

I can't wait to get an S3 (mk2) :)

yes if i could afford the insurance/fuel/car tax

Standard vRS vs. Standard S3... yes

My vRS vs. Standard S3... no

My vRS vs. Same Spec S3... YES

No, I like my car too much (and wouldn't be able to afford to run an S3...and if I did, I'd spend too much money modding it) :giggle:

Apparently they are quite numb to drive so no. I would have a Type R again though if i wasnt saving money.

Simple as that - would you?

Yes....in a heartbeat if my wife was not doing 20k miles a year

Yes

Remapped bam / apy engines are awesome

My mates got an apy 210bhp s3 engined lupo

Would you have that?
