Does anyone know if its legal to use my factory fitted BMW car phone in the centre armrest or is this classed as a mobile phone?

This would be illegal as you aren't using it handsfree.

You cannot use ANY phone device held in your hand whilst driving. I must be mounted in a cradle and used hands-free.

(however lots of BMW drivers think the law doesn't apply to them!!)

I'm wondering if you have the same setup as me where your normal phone fits in a handset specific cradle in the centre console? If so then its controlled by the mfsw and is totally legal.
