FMIC lower intercooler pipe - replacement

Featured Replies

I have a Forge FMIC fitted along with a Neuspeed lower intercooler pipe. I repaired the bracket on the pipe last year and moved it as far inwards as possible, without risking it popping off the circlip joint again.

The problem I have is that it catches the tyre on full lock, which I can live with, but also knocks on the suspension drop-link - which is driving me mad!

Please can members running FMIC's post up what lower intercooler pipe they are running and whether it's "knock free". I was going to take it off this weekend to flatten it slightly, but will hold off as hopefully someone will have a solution?? Maybe the OE pancake pipe is the way to go (back to)?

As you know I run the Forge FMIC and i replaced my lower pipe form a aftermarket one that looks just like that neuspeed one. Unfortunatly there is no other pipe that will do the trick without knocking, unless it is the same as the std pancake one so defeats the object replacing it. I have gone back to std pancake one.

I may look at reforming mine at some point but can't be bothered with the hassle as other things to do on the car.

Cheers Bowders, appreciate your help. I swapped back to summer wheels today and tried playing with the angle of the bracket, and whilst marginally better it's still knocking. Need to knock about 15mm out of the joint to clear it. Anyone help with the part number for the pancake pipe as mine came with the Neuspeed?

the standard pancake pipe is not a restriction so why change it ????

put oem one back on
