Strange and Annoying Noise from the rear-right?

Featured Replies

I have a problem related with noise..

When i drive the car on the slightly bad surface(rough or imperfect asphalt) there is a annoying noise from the rear-right(maybe from the door) like "bızzzz", it is like a noise caused by vibration.

I am not sure for the reason and the source of this noise, from where it is rising; so i wanted to ask you:

What can be the reason and where to look for the solution?

This may sound a little silly but check the rear door pockets. My daughter complained of a buzzing sound in the back of my car recently and it turned out to be two things in the door pocket vibrating with the beat from the speakers.

Mine does exactly the same - I thought I was going mad as nobody has ever posted something similar!! Mine has done it from new, but not all the time. The dealer replaced the lift pump in the fuel tank, but it still does it. What I have noticed is that it only does it when the fuel tank is between 1/3 and 1/2 full, and when on a slight angle (hills etc or going round corners), so it is possible it is the lift pump, but even a new one didn't cure it! ...its just an annoying little buzz that you only notice when stationary, or at very low speeds....after 18 months I don't really notice it much now....

Mine does it from near-side rear - cargo area - but a around 65-70mph only, and again, not all the time...

searched for the source of it, but never found an issue... i just turn up the tunes! :D

Had something similar on previous car - rear-brake pad retention clip had worked it was loose, and the pad was rattling..

I have a similar problem and I suspect it from either the boot door or the rear seats. Its specifically from the rear-right side and a knocking or tapping sound, as if something is loose. Have to get it checked by the dealer. Will report if the problem is identified.

I traced a similar sound on my mk1 octy to the rear seat which was rattling in its housing. By gluing some rubber washers to the rubber grommet it sat against, it cured the problem. Not sure if its the same issue, but may be worth a look.
