Did the non-Greenline 1.9 PD Tdi Superb 2 have a DPF?

Featured Replies

I drive an inconvenient mix of short stuff around town and towing a caravan several thousand miles. So non-DPF diesels have an attraction! In the UK.

Hence the simple question. Thanks. Stuart.

Thanks; that's the one I'll be going for when the time us right.

If you know you'll be towing, I'd go for a bigger engine then the 1.9 PD engine. I't a bit underpowered before you hitch up an extra tonne of caravan.

Buying new, the larger engines only add a small amount to the purchase price, and buying 2nd hand as I assume you are talking about should actually be easier to get, as companies like LEX auto lease have been pushing the top end models to their customers, so they should be coming onto the 2nd hand market in their droves, at 2 & 3 years old.

I have the 1.9 Greenline. It will tow a caravan, but with effort. I hope to replace it with the 2.0 CR 170 model in 2 years time.

Thanks for that. It's all a matter of £ and p, but I'll also look at the 2.0 diesels.

Presumably they started as PD without DPF and changed to CR with PDF? Or did they always have a DPF in Suerb Mk 2 guise?
